🤼‍♂️ What is grappling?
  • Grappling – or ground fighting – is a non-striking combat sport that combines techniques from wrestling, judo, sambo, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Its main goal is to control the opponent's position, using chokes, arm locks, and leg locks to force the opponent to submit.
  • There are no draws in this sport: victory is achieved by submission (e.g., choke, lock), points, or elimination. Technical skills and positional control also play a decisive role.
  • Competition forms include Gi grappling (with a gi uniform), NoGi grappling (shorts and rashguard), and combat grappling, where limited striking techniques are also permitted and protective equipment is required.
  • The federation also focuses on the defensive aspect: effective grappling techniques are also suitable for self-defense and MMA training.
🌐 International relations and recognition

The MGSZ operates as an official member of the UWW (United World Wrestling) and as an active part of the Global Grappling community. It works closely with other domestic clubs and international partners.

In summary: the Hungarian Grappling Federation is a dynamically developing organization that not only organizes competitions and operates a national team, but also provides professional training, strengthening the position of grappling in Hungarian sports, while supporting the technical, social, and health aspects of the sport.
