Hungarian Kickboxing Association – The governing body of kickboxing in Hungary
The Hungarian Kickboxing Association (MKBSZ) is the official organization of kickboxing in Hungary and a member of theWAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organizations). Its tasks include promoting the sport, operating the competition system, training and education, and maintaining international relations.
Main goals and tasks
- Operation of the competition system: Organization of national championships, cups, and training camps in the seven disciplines of the sport (point fighting, light contact, kick-light, form exercises, full-contact, low-kick, K1).
- International participation: Hungarian competitors regularly take part in European and world championships, as well as the World Games. Since 2021, kickboxing has been recognized as a sport by the International Olympic Committee and is likely to be included in the 2028 Olympic program.
- Training and education: The MKBSZ pays special attention to the training of young talents by organizing training camps and age-group world championships.
- Coach training and certification: Regular dan exams and professional training ensure high-quality coaching.
