The Prohászka Zsolt Municipal Sports Hall is one of the most important sports and community facilities in the town of Gyula. It serves not only as a hub for local competitive sports, but also for recreational athletics and major town events. In 2012, the sports hall was named after Prohászka Zsolt (1969–2012), known as the “Ironman of Gyula.” Prohászka Zsolt was a respected triathlete, marathon runner, and dedicated sports leader who made significant contributions to the development of student athletics and the sports school system in the county. His legacy is honored not only through the naming of the hall, but also by an annual memorial run.

The facility is operated by Gyulasport Nonprofit Kft. In recent years, the hall has undergone substantial upgrades:

A Venue for Diverse Events
The sports hall hosts the city’s largest sporting events, such as
Gyula Sports Gala, combat sports galas, football tournaments, and parasport days. It is also an important venue for school physical education classes and community mass sports programs.
